about acupuncture

Traditional Chinese Medicine
Consisting of acupuncture, herbs and bodywork (tu-ina massage, gu- sha, cupping) Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used effectively for over 4000 years. Many people have found Traditional Chinese methods of healing to be excellent tools for maintaining optimum health and preventing illness. The healing arts of TCM are designed to integrate into daily life helping the body to heal itself naturally.
What is Acupuncture / How Does it Work?
Acupuncture is used as a method to prevent disease as it re-balances energy within body. The Qi (ch-ee), a life-giving energy, flows to every cell, tissue, muscle and organ through meridian pathways mapped within the body. An obstruction in your meridian system can be caused by an injury or trauma, lack of movement, dietary intake to over indulgencies.
This imbalance of Qi throughout your system may lead to pain, a lack of well being, or if chronic may lead to disease.
With insertion of very fine needles into a prescription of specific points along the meridian system, treatment of a disorder begins as the body’s self-healing mechanism is activated.
Modern research has shown that by stimulating acupuncture points along the meridian channels affect the central and peripheral nervous system causing physiological responses in the body. This increase of endorphins aids in pain management while the immune & endocrine system response combats disease.
Research also suggests that acupuncture improves the circulatory system, decreases muscle tightness and increases joint flexibility.
Clinical trails have proven to successfully treat many Western conditions such as headaches, musculoskeletal conditions, gynecological disorders, high blood pressure, stress to addictions. For more info go to SERVICES.
